Outstanding French Documentary on World War II

French TV has aired an outstanding documentary on World War II (the only problem — at least to some — being that the images have been colorized).

In Apocalypse — La 2e guerre mondiale, unlike other modern documentaries (American or foreign), we get a sense of the horror of the fighting and death tolls on the Pacific islands that led to the atomic bombs and Stalin is not whitewashed (or not as much as usual); we learn notably that "after liberating Birkenau, Stalin kept it open for his own purposes." (Biggest regret: Patton does not get much airtime; also, some France 2 suit seems to have omitted any Yanks in the trailer below…)
