Pay no attention to that man behind the curtain
"[insert name of Third World country here] can be proud of this magnificent victory" -- Jacques Chiraq following France's World Cup win against Spain yesterday. This is what France has been reduced to. Like any Third World country that relies on tourism (and is therefore dependant on others), France is encouraged to seek pride and self-respect in the ups and downs of its football team.
