They cannot set up checkpoints. They cannot search cars or homes or businesses. They cannot detain suspects. If they see a truck transporting missiles for example, they cannot stop it. And they cannot staff check points with the Lebanese Army because they do not know each others procedures.

Thanks. That should really accomplish a great deal of ‘peacemaking not peacekeeping’ that they sold it as. They’ll end up pissing away most of their energy just trying to make nice hoping their experienced, battle-hardened jihadist neighbors will leave the new inmate with the pretty lips alone.
