Thomas Sowell’s great work, A Conflict of Visions , goes in depth on these philosophical differences, which he categorizes as Constrained (flawed human nature) vs. Unconstrained (perfectable human nature). We see these differences echo down today into many examples of left vs. right. These are the First Principles behind each side that are almost hidden from most of the public today. Well worth exploring. Imagine if universities covered this broadly- but then one side clearly outperforms the other.
