La lépenisation des esprits, c'est aussi ça !

The Paris soccer mob resulted in 1 dead and 1 injured and hospitalized (both from gunfire). The injured hooligan is Mounir Bouchaer, member of the Gavroches de Boulogne who goes by the nickname "Francis", a prime example of a new violent strain of second generation, anti-Semitic, ultra-nationalism now corsing its way through the clogged arteries French society. These are the suburban French youth that put Le Pen atop the Skyrock Presidential polls earlier this year. These are the suburban French youth who have paved the way for Dieudonné's crossover to the Nationalist far right. These are the suburban French youth who are flocking to Le Pen in response to his visceral anti-Semitism and anti-Americanism. These are suburban French youth who will vote for the far right during next April's Presidential elections.

Hopefully to get more crowded

Since they cant get much worse, its worth a shot even if there is always someone out there ready to shout Gitmo!.

New Europe flexes its muscles

Chiraq once told Poland and other New Europe countries to "shut up", but the newer EU members are doing a world of good by dragging the EU, albeit kicking and screaming, into the real world.

En Fwance , la vie est un long fleuve de moments Fofana

Everytime a Jew is tortured and killed or hunted down in the street by a lynch mob the French act surprised that their country has turned into a 1930's style anti-Semitic hellhole. Not that they will do anything to change it. It suits them just fine.

The main hate blog read by suburban French youth (ie. Fofana idolizing crazed animals) gets to the root of the problem by asking "What's an Israeli team doing in a UEFA Cup match anyway?". It's a provocation! And after the provocation, as always, comes the humiliation. Paris lost 4-2.

A Paris-Saint-Germain hooligan was killed by police outside the Parc des Prince stadium where Paris-Saint-Germain was playing against Hapoël of Tel-Aviv. An undercover policeman, after rescuing a Tel-Aviv fan from a mob of approximately 150 Paris-Saint-Germain hooligans, fired into the mob while fighting them off. The mob then chased the undercover policeman into a McDonalds at the Porte Saint Cloud when other police arrived at the scene. As per standard French mob behavior, the McDonalds was trashed.

Double Plus Ungood

The very Orwellian French preSS, always quick to make use of its favorite bogeyman -- the "far right" (extrème droite) -- every time it attempts to drum up something sinister, has completely forgotten that there is a no less sinister "far left" (extrème gauche). Curiously, the "far left" has vanished from the official State Party Line©® vocabulary, and has been replaced by "the left of the left" (la gauche de la gauche) and "anti-capitalist left" (la gauche antilibérale).

With All the Clarity and Resolve of a Suicide Bomber

Walter Williams on Euro-nomics:

What's the European response to its self-made economic malaise? They don't repeal the laws that make for a poor investment climate. Instead, through the Paris-based Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD), they attack low-tax jurisdictions. Why? To support its welfare state, European nations must have high taxes, but if Europeans, as private citizens and businessmen, relocate, invest and save in other jurisdictions, it means less money is available to be taxed.
The real outcome of all of this for the European population? People get shafted:
Government spending exceeds 50 percent of the GDP in France and Sweden and more than 45 percent in Germany and Italy , compared to U.S. federal, state and local spending of just under 36 percent. Government spending encourages people to rely on handouts rather than individual initiative, and the higher taxes to finance the handouts reduce incentives to work, save and invest. The European results shouldn't surprise anyone. U.S. per capita output in 2003 was $39,700, almost 40 percent higher than the average of $28,700 for European nations.

Over the last decade, the U.S. economy has grown twice as fast as European economies. In 2006, European unemployment averaged 8 percent while the U.S. average was 4.7 percent. What's more, the percentage of Americans without a job for more than 12 months was 12.7 percent while in Europe it was 42.6 percent. Since 1970, 57 million new jobs were created in the U.S., and just 4 million were created in Europe.
Produce less, and you have less to redistribute anyway! But if they remove the “profit motive” to do things and eventually get to the point where the state, (whoever that is and whoever it taxes to do things) ends up being the only and controlling entrepot of feeding, clothing, and housing people, what does it matter?

In the meanwhile, John Rosenthal reports on Le Figaro selective use of the active voice and a hostile tone, one reminiscent of a weird joyous élan, but only against the right kind of bugbears of their obsession, and fear that someone is trying to “move their cheese”. The story is wedged between a non-news fluff piece about “diversity” and a security threat that gets the usual downplayed treatment so as not to scare (or inform) anyone.
This American seizure of control is worrying. In an interview with Le Figaro, Henri Lachmann, who is writing a report on the subject for major French corporations, demands that the process of rapprochement between Euronext and the NYSE be stopped.

Run Out Of Things To Ban Yet?

Apparently there's more than one way to skin a cat. EU to ”take action” on the trade in cat and dog fur.

Puke-worthy as the notion is, they present no data on whether the neighbor’s Pomeranian is actually becoming a cuff lining. Methinks Madame’s cloak fringe doesn’t quite have the sentimental value of letting a taxidermist have a go at Fido.

“They do not find it acceptable to farm cats and dogs for their fur, nor do they want products containing such fur sold on the European market.” But the EU has done nothing to heed popular calls for a ban on fox, rabbit or mink furs.

The UK NGO Advocates for Animals estimates that more than half the world’s mink are bred in Scandinavia - where there are more than 10,000 fur factory farms. “Two thirds of all fox bred for fur come from Finland,” the NGO added in a statement.

In other words, the ban on pelts from Minks, Fox, Nutrias, rat or whatever other creatures bred for the purpose are ignored. Failing that, they try to ban something else that might once and for all prove the reflex to control people a success.

Come on, punk. Make my day.

Cause: The Usual Pointless Petty Duplicity

For those of you out there trying to decrypt what’s really going on in Iraq through the fog of the mainstream media’s coverage, all you have to do is look at their slightly less biased reporting of the murder of Industry Minister Pierre Gemayel in Lebanon. Gemayel is the son of former President Amin Gemayel, and the nephew of Bashir Gemayel, assassinated as President elect.

Someone or other is engaging in violence to do one of the following:

- Buck for position.
- Start another Civil War.
- Announce that they could start another civil war.
- Threaten the Christians that they could take out people who are dearer to them if they don’t play dead.

Either that or Hizballah is telling the Syrians that they wont have any of that “decent global citizen” stuff that they might be trying to reign them in for. It also doesn’t hurt to smack them now that there is some possible statesmanship to get in on, when all concerned would prefer that Syria take up a junior membership in the “axis of evil”.The Fuse is Lit (No Pasaran!)

Dead End or Ray of Hope?

Stay tuned for Jean-Louis Caccomo's upcoming book: LA TROISIEME VOIE: IMPASSE OU ESPERANCE?

Now Appearing on Appeasement TV

Robert Redeker tells M6 that he’s moved and has had to sell his home. The risk to him is permanent in nuance-land:

Redeker wrote, "As in the Cold War, where violence and intimidation were the methods used by an ideology hell bent on hegemony, so today Islam tries to put its leaden mantel all over the world. Benedict XVI's cruel experience is testimony to this. Nowadays, as in those times, the West has to be called the 'Free World' in comparison to the Muslim world; likewise, the enemies of the 'Free World,' the zealous bureaucrats of the Koran's vision, who swarm in the very center of the 'Free World,' should be called by their true name."

In reaction to Redeker's column, Egypt banned Le Figaro and Redeker received numerous death threats. His address and maps to his home were published on al-Qaida-linked Web sites and he was forced to leave his job, and flee for his life. While Redeker e-mailed a colleague that French police have set free the man they know was behind the threats to his life, Redeker recently described his plight to a friend in the following fashion, "There is no safe place for me, I have to beg, two evenings here, two evenings there... I am under the constant protection of the police. I must cancel all scheduled conferences."
In the mean time, the predicted numbness over the Socialist Party is setting in. The issue at hand posed to these folks is “would you vote for Ségolène Royal (reduced to a single name, much like Prince) because she’s a woman?” Well... we’re talking about the sort of things that Europeans fret over. By looking for something painless to fret over they don’t think they’ve wasted their vote, so the comfortable thing is taken seriously and they feel ‘hooked in’. Yes, many people indeed would vote for someone just because they’re female.
For many, the concept of equality amounts to silly, feel-good acts of that sort.

The balance of the babble is about the environment, geared perfectly to play into the hands of the left in a positive, yet impoverishing way. Like Prince, sooner or later all populist politicians will become little more than a glyph.

Meanwhile, a bit of publicized personal controversy changes the election equation for the moment. Economic liberal candidate Philippe de Villiers’ son has accused his brother of raping and molesting him as a child.

Quoted in Nouvel Obs:
The facts of the case go back fifteen years when both boys were minors. The two brothers faced an investigating magistrate last Thursday who also compel an investigation of the credibility of the younger brother, the author of a complaint dated October 30 against his older brother. An expert for the court determined that the plaintiff’s complaint was “credible”.
Under investigation for rape, Guillaume de Villiers was placed in custody. He is married and the father of three.
“It is my son who is being investigated. He had been the target an undercover investigation for several months over giving me confidential documents for my book “The Mosques of Roissy” to be precise”
Though it’s really to soon to say that this will knock the best-known figure of his Mouvement pour la France party out of the race for good, it doesn’t help. It would, however, split the votes he would otherwise take from the UMP. I suspect that people with a genuine interest in individual freedom, less government micromanagement of people’s lives, and lower taxation, would not be readily attracted to a traditionally nativist, tariff and trade-barrier oriented party like Le Pen’s FN.

So it goes. The Fuse is Lit (No Pasaran!)

Pas plus facho qu'un black ou un beur de la talibanlieue

September 28 2004 - French writer Alain Soral is attacked at a book signing. It is reported that Dieudonné shows up after the attack "in support of" Soral. Soral claims that he was sandbagged by an extremist Jewish group and files charges. No evidence of involvement by Jewish groups is found and the incident looks more and more like a self-promotion vehicle for Soral whose book sales are in the crapper. Soral, who previously wrote extremely negative rants directed at suburban French youth, now takes their side in his writings in order to tap into the growing French market for anti-Semitic content.

Soral says its the Jews fault if no one buys his books

March 3 2005 - Bruno Gollnisch, a senior director of the Front National, is suspended from his teaching position at the University of Lyon III following comments made about the gas chambers. Dieudonné defends Gollnisch against "the Jewish lobby that acts as if it can do whatever it wants".

February 2006 - Jean-Claude Martinez, Vice-President of the Front National, causes some waves with his book which contains a passage reaching out to suburban French youth: "our French speaking suburbs can become our objective allies in fighting for the survival of the influence of the French language in the world". The passage is all the more significant because Martinez's writings are often used as feelers in advance of work putting together new Front National platforms.

March 7 2006 - Skyrock radio, a popular French rap-R&B station and the most listened to radio station among suburban French youth, runs an online poll to rate potential Presidential candidates. To everyone's surprise Le Pen finishes first, and less surprisingly Dieudonné finishes second. French pundits cry that the fix is in, what with the reliability of online polls and all. Skyrock wipes the slates clean, tweaks its polling software, and does a rerun. Same result. No evidence of cyber ballot stuffing can be found and French pundits and other media types quickly shitcan the results. After all, how can suburban French youth vote Le Pen?

August 28 2006 - Dieudonné, Alain Soral, and Thierry Meyssan head a French delegation to Lebanon.

September 20 2006 - Le Pen gives a much talked about speech at Valmy to kick off his 2007 Presidential campaign, portions of which are elaborated by Alain Soral.

November 11 2006 - To mainstream amazement, Dieudonné visits the Front National yearly shindig.

Since Dieudonné's visit to the Front National, Townhouse marching orders have been given to suburban Internautes, and canvassing activists through the blogs and web sites which are close to Dieudonné. Surburban French comic Jamel Debbouze is now attacked on these sites for supporting Socialist Party Presidential candidate Ségolène Royal (Debbouze is the tool that can be seen applauding Dieudonné during his infamous Isra'Heil sketch during a live French State TV broadcast). The message to suburban French youth voters is clear: Le Pen is not (or is no longer) the enemy. The enemy is the French political and media establishment, Israel, and the United States. Le Pen snatches the suburban vote out of the hands of the French Left and Dieudonné works around establishment media's blacklisting of him by hooking up with France's third largest political party (over 15% in current polls, the Front National was France's second most popular political party in 2002, beating the hapless Socialists in an other moment that the French MSM didn't see coming).

Live from the Pan-European Institute of Symbolism

The same old pedantry of anti-Americanism as a reliable election plank is back again. I never thought it would come this soon:

Ségolène Royal, the Socialist candidate for the French presidency, wants Britain to choose between being a "vassal" of the United States, and embracing a French-led drive for European integration, her adviser on Europe has revealed.
She went on to admonish people about a diverse set of policies in Europe dividing them between one view which is made to seem shameful for seeming to be linked with the US, and anything a “quartet” of Spain, Italy, Germany, and France that she suggests is the true heart of Europe. In other words, the older, less vibrant parts of it that want to cow the UK and silence the rest. Were ¾ of that quartet not led by Socialists, I’m sure this grand and glorious theory would be less seminally quite different. Maybe call it a “gerrymander” instead of a “quartet”, but either way, they have an intolerance for a range of ideas that would make Stalin blush.

Says EURSOC two of Royal’s quasi-nativist claptrap:
Failure to comply, Savary warns, could lead to the creation of a two-speed EU, rather like that envisaged by president Jacques Chirac when other European "allies" refused to sway under French tutelage.

Royal's people reckon Germany, Italy and Spain would join France in the creation of a "relaunched" Europe - one which they claim they would rather not invoke, but fear they might have to should other nations fail to see things their way.

It remains to be seen if other nations would want to join a France-led bloc. Chirac could always count on the support of his sidekick Gerhard Schröder when he threatened a fast-track EU, but current Chancellor Angela Merkel has been distinctly cooler towards Paris than her predecessor.

Moreover, other personalities will change, or are changing. Tony Blair, who at the outset of his premiership was determined to resolve Britain's dysfunctional relationship with Europe was a surefire bet to be rattled by French mutterings about a fast-track or hard-core EU of fast integrating nations. Blair wanted Britain "at the heart of Europe" - being banished to an outer circle - even if that circle did contain the majority of EU states, the fastest-growing economies, as well as rich northern nations like Denmark, Sweden and Holland - would be more than he could bear.
Funny – wasn’t it the LEFT that said “no!” to the EU constitution?

‘Impure Thoughts’ Banished From Headlines

With results like this:

Only a minority were prepared to make significant financial sacrifices to eliminate the threat of global warming. A quarter said they would pay one week’s wages or more – roughly the 2 per cent of national income figure that Sir Nicholas Stern suggested rich countries might need to pay – but a third said they would not pay anything at all.
How do you end up with a headline like this?

From an alert reader: this photo was taken in the passage between lines 6 and 12 Metro Pasteur.

I have no idea whether those responsible are muslims who wish to mark the territory, or non-muslims who wish to make a point about the realities in present day France.
Apparently a poster promoting an upcoming Cliff Richard concert suffered the same fate. We expect most people will find this to be less of a problem were it not for the internecine nature of the vanadism.

Aren't you glad they're making themselves useful?

Tendance gaucho... First they came for the leeks. Then they wanted the Respect Party... Now they’re striking back. Giving getting a piece a chance.

But this is what would REALLY get them going: America in an S&M scene that always turns out the same way – compliant, and suffering for the pleasure of master who long ago cornered the market on nuance, such as demanding that she negoicated with her enemies when it's least opportune.

Next week they’ll go back to trying to “free Tibet” with little stickers for another 30 years. Knock yourselves out.

France is also more Baathist than Iraq

When you tell the French that their country is communist, they look at you with that stupid condescending expression they use as an answer to most everything. In fact, the French are so out of it that they actually think that their country is too free market oriented. Talk about being delusional. Here, a Chinese entrepreneur explains to a French entrepreneur why France is more communist than China.

Acid Flashback. Next Stop: 1973

Former outlet of leftist abuse dusted off and brought out onto BBC1 this morning for the express purpose of writing smashing out-of-context headlines:
"If you mean by 'military victory' an Iraqi Government that can be established and whose writ runs across the whole country, that gets the civil war under control and sectarian violence under control in a time period that the political processes of the democracies will support, I don't believe that is possible," he said on the BBC's Sunday AM breakfast show.

But Kissinger warned against a rapid withdrawal of troops, saying it could lead to "disastrous consequences," destabilizing Iraq's neighbors and causing a long-lasting conflict.

Another “Brave” Ambush on Authority

Dutch military interrogators abused 15 Iraqi prisoners in 2003 with bright light.

There’s been yet another attempt at an infantile pre-electoral surprise. This time it’s by a bunch of dim bulbs in the Netherlands. The newspaper De Volkskrant reports on a torture scandal with the politically potential usefulness greater than abu Graib ever was since we’re talking about Europeans who have convinced themselves that the dozen prisoners abused at abu Graib was a chamber of horrors on the scale of Auschwitz.

"Dutch torture Iraqis" was the headline in the national daily De Volkskrant on Friday and it sparked a furore amongst politicians busy with the last days of campaigning ahead of national elections next week.

The motives to publish the story are clear, and seem to have nothing at all to do with timely and honest journalism.
De Volkskrant, or "People's Newspaper," which bills itself as "progressive and change-oriented," said the prisoner abuse happened when Dutch troops were stationed in Iraq's Muthana province.
The newspaper revealed that a cell from the military intelligence and security service (MIVD) had carried out 'heavy handed tactical questioning' of tens of Iraqis taken prisoner in the southern province of Al Muthanna. This was during a Dutch tour of duty in Iraq in 2003.
Just as with abu Greib, the press timed just when it was when they would get worked up. The US Department of Defense released all the information relative to the scandal months before the New York Times decided to become outraged just in time for the 2004 election by publishing the same story with no new information for 83 straight days.

Femke Halsema, the leader of the Green Left opposition party, said: "We take this very seriously - we can all remember Abu Ghraib. If this has been kept quiet since 2003 then it's certainly something we have to examine."
[ ... ]
Questions were asked in parliament in 2004 about rumours that Dutch troops had been involved in the abuse of prisoners
The method is the same here. The “stance” taken on events is most notable relative to the press and the green left pretending to be entirely unaware of the timing of repeating the report’s findings.

Except for on little problem with the spinability.of this "scandal". For one thing, it happened in the British sector, nowhere near abu Graib, so it can’t be said that it was inspired by what the few bad-apple reservists did between 18 October and 30 December 2003 at night and in secret. The difference between the Dutch scandal and that of the Maryland National Guard troops is nearly Guantanamoan in nature. The Dutch had operational reasons, and not just an exercise in a few soldiers acting out of their frustration at a handul of criminals and rapists:

According to De Volkskrant, the interrogations were carried out by members of the Dutch Military Intelligence and Security Service in November 2003 in buildings of the Coalition Provisional Authority in the town of Samawah, on the Euphrates River about 230 miles southeast of Baghdad.
Prisoners were forced to wear darkened goggles then exposed to bright lights when the goggles were removed, De Volkskrant reported. They also were kept awake for long periods by being doused with water or subjected to high-pitched noises.
Bright light! The horror! This is what makes the Green Left’s comparison to abu Graib incredibly fatuous.

The bottom line is that they would have their troops not lean on a prisoner at all, even if the information might lead to heading off violence on Iraqi civilians. After all, the left desperately need that violence to somehow prove their point about themselves because they demand “peace.”

Shrinkwrapped has long been putting the “root causes” of the kind of politics of the “peace camp” that drools over the political usefeulness of these scandals on the couch:

The anti-war movement, as if to re-confirm their essential morality and bravery, continue to "speak truth to power" at no real risk to themselves. In order to avoid the deeply hidden questions, maintain consistency in their rationalizations, and continue to retroactively justify their anti-Vietnam War beliefs, the anti-War campaigners are willing to once again abandon people who trusted us. Millions of Iraqis will be killed but they will feel morally superior and will continue to support the edifice of rationalizations that have sustained their image of themselves as brave rebels since the glory days of the 1960s.

How much is it worth to stabilize a nation that has never known consensual governance and create an eventual democratic state in the middle of the most dangerous place on Earth? The reality is that our casualty rate in Iraq is minimal compared to past wars and the primary reason to abandon the Iraqis at this early date in their attempts to gain stability is a continuing need for too many Americans of a certain age (who unfortunately have great power over the image of the war) to maintain a defensive stance that has already caused untold misery and threatens to compound the misery once again. I do not mean to imply our conduct of the war has been perfect or that victory is right around the corner, but the only way we can lose this war is by abandoning the fight. Our enemies know this and count on it. We should not rationalize our failure of will as a triumph of morality; we did that once and it was the height of immorality.
If there is anything that’s to be though of as “senseless” it’s the left’s abuse of a military trying to restore a civil society after justly deposing a warmongering dictator.

The insurgents are the ones behind the killing of innocent civilians, and by some great leap out from the shackles of morality and common sense, the “peace” camp can’t seem to countenance shining a bright ligh in the eyes of 15 men in the effort to put a stop to it.

Just to reiterate: in the world view of the caring, loving, lefties of the Netherlands, buggery, an abuse of animals for non-concentual personal jollies for no productive reason is completly legal, but shining a light in the eyes of military prisoners with information that can save lives isn't.

Are we all clear on this? Good.

Carbonisée

If you can’t beat them, bring them down to your level of mediocrity with yet another universe-healing tax.

French Prime Minister Dominique de Villepin said Monday he would push with European partners for a carbon tax on industrial goods from countries that ignore the Kyoto Protocol.

"That is a thoroughly silly proposal and utterly out of touch with reality," Howard told reporters.

"Mind you, (Villepin) does come from a country that is known for imposing high trade barriers against other countries like Australia."
