Naturally BFM had an agenda to try and create political controversy between Trump and the new Pope, emphasizing a quote from the Pope’s brother claiming that the Pope thinks the U.S. is headed in the wrong direction on immigration and that Trump’s deportation of illegal criminals is unjust (even though there is a clip circulating of when the Pope was a Cardinal warning about mass immigration into Europe). 

Nicolas handled it all very well stating that Trump was delighted with the selection of the first American Pope, but reminded viewers that Trump was elected to do a job and is doing it and that a growing number of Catholics are supporting his policies while he also supported the independence, grace, and hopeful longevity of Pope Leo…
