Ça commence bien: President Hollande's Plane to Germany Is Hit by Lightning, Returns to Paris

On his first day as president (in fact, within hours of taking over from Nicolas Sarkozy), and after the rain fell on his parade, the plane flying François Hollande to Berlin was hit by lightning and had to return to Paris.

A second plane taking the new French president for a meeting with Angela Merkel is scheduled to land in Germany an hour and a half to two hours after the planned landing time. (If all goes well…)
