..."Can I have one last request?"...EUtopian confusion: notice that the Serguei doesn't seem to think that the smoker doing a nice impression of Joan of Arc isn't killing himself. Somehow the rest of society is involved. Truly pointless.

It fits nicely with another of today's newsless items in Le Monde, including this one on the front page: "Pompidou Center Leading in Contemporaneous Creativity" which ignores the fact that independent artists might disagree that a committee driven state institution can force the creation of anything genuine, or that creative people may, implausibly, also exist somewhere else where it requires some effort on the part of the journo to identify.
