Reporting on the new developments at the head of Iraq,
Le Monde's
main article describes a country "at war" while
the editorial laments "Iraq's chaotic situation, in which violence has not let up since the end of the American war". Apparently, there was
no violence before the onset of the "American" war, and the situation at the time (i.e., when Iraq was not "at war") was
in no way chaotic.
As for Courrier International, that weekly shows, with this week's title ("Iraq after two years of occupation"), how much the lucid French have understood about Iraq and on the feelings and viewpoints of its inhabitants…
