Treason to American Warmongers, Not to the American People

One of the most stirring speeches for peace and against Yankee aggressiveness comes from a pacifist in Berlin, an American who understands the value of nuance… Just listen:

Technically, I suppose I am guilty of treason — of treason to Bush and his warmongers, but not to the American people. . . To have deserted the Iraqi people would have been an act of treason against my conscience . . . Don't think the choice was easy . . . Nevertheless I made then my choice, and I have never regretted that choice for an instant . . . If that be treason, make the most of it.
