Food for Thought

Given the fact that this year marks the 25th anniversary of the opening of the first McDonald's restaurant in France (it opened in Strasbourg), perhaps the enthusiastic champions of France's interventionist state system and its worker support foundation, as well as those who sing the praises of l'égalité toute-puissante, should pay some heed to the founder of — mais oui! McDonald's, Ray Kroc (1902-1984), whose birthday it is today:
It's easy to have principles when you're rich. The important thing is to have principles when you're poor.

Luck is a dividend of sweat. The more you sweat, the luckier you get.

If you're not a risk taker, you should get the hell out of business.

While formal schooling is an important advantage, it is not a guarantee of success nor is its absence a fatal handicap.

You're only as good as the people you hire.

Creativity is a highfalutin word for the work I have to do between now and Tuesday.

As long as you're green, you're growing. As soon as you're ripe, you start to rot.
