Yes, There Are American Flags in Paris
It turns out that yes, there are American flags in Paree today…
It doesn't matter when exactly Paris was liberated. It's just a matter of gratitude. The thousands of American lives lost in the process of liberating France deserve some minimum courtesy. Their families are still wondering if their sacrifice was worthwhile. It's sad to realize that, for the most part, was not. God Bless America. P.S.: It's okay to feel envy. Just try to use that feeling to improve yourselves and become better.
We've decided not to celebrate that this year. Instead, President Bush will set free a pair of frogs on the White House Lawn. The exact selection of these two lucky amphibians has yet to be announced. A well connected insider points favorably to the two asylum seekers found hiding in the kitchen aboard Air France’s last flight of the Concorde to the US. Negotiations are on going over extradition charges, however. But the American Civil Liberties Union says, it would drop the mental and physical abuse charges now pending in federal court. The administration is seeking France’s full cooperation. This one lone act of goodwill can disprove the naysayers and provide positive evidence that the two governments can still work together in the worthy causes of freedom.
Well, those are two flags displayed by one person, so I think the proper headline should be:
ReplyDelete"Yes, there is an American flag displayed in Paris today.":
As far as I know, we were not celebrating the liberation of Paris. That's in August...
