United Nations

"There is no doubt that the great poison in the Middle East is the Israeli policy of domination and the suffering imposed upon the Palestinians, as well as the perception of this injustice by everyone in this region and the support accorded to this unjust policy by the United States."

--Such were the words of Lakhdar Brahimi, the UN's special envoy to Iraq in an interview with France Inter. Brahimi also stated: "There are lots of other people on this planet...They [the US] should make an effort to learn how to live with them." Kofi Annan is distancing himself from the remarks, but you have to wonder how Brahimi can accomplish any transition towards Iraqi autonomy when he is preoccupied with scape-goating others for the failings of the Middle East.
