Tea-leafing

Hmmm, watching a live presser from Paris in which the bigs of the EU are announcing the latest governmental plan to "tackle" the current economic situation.

Plenty of praise for President Sarkozy, as to be expected for the host and current holder of the EU Rota Presidency.

Oddly enough, from a European perspective, Chancellor Merkel is not on the dais and has not been mentioned except in passing. One would think that an issue of paramount EU-importance would include the leader of the largest country/economy on the continent.

It will be interesting to see/hear/read why she was absent.
