The Childish Hatred of Success

Sure to be a hit film, "The Educators" displays such a typically european sentiment thsy wealth is never earned, is nothing more than something for the lazy, unlucky, and envious to loath and dwell on.

With absolutely no perspective on the
reduction of poverty in the past two decades, a great many Germans and others in Europe still beleive in that economy is a zero-sum game where the mere existence of the successful always explains why one doesn't have everything one wants. Never mind ones' own efforts - sabotaging oneself doesn't count.
Of course any discussion to the contrary is of course
double-ungood think - there is no reason for anyone to have a motivation to be creative and successful...

Ray and David have more on the German search for "psycho-social justice and comfort".
